Officially Human Returning to Host Amplifying Event at 2024 Barbasol Horizon LeagueBasketball Championships

HORIZON LEAGUE

Officially Human will host a “What Does it Take to Be A High Level Official” event at the 2024 Barbasol Horizon League Basketball Championships. The event is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, March 12 in the Valeo Fan Zone at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center.

Why this matters: The Horizon League was the first conference to partner with Officially Human and the two organizations have collaborated on three previous events around the basketball championships in Indianapolis.

Officially Human exists to restore respect to, and positive treatment of, sports officials through increased education and communication to all stakeholders (administrators, coaches, and fans). The organization is focused solely on game officials with a foundational goal to keep game officials on the fields and courts for generations to come.

Major Voices:

Horizon League Commissioner Julie Roe Lach

“Officially Human’s mission closely aligns with both our focus on sportsmanship and our core value of respect. Brenda and her team are making a Major Impact and our continued partnership will bring awareness to the officiating crisis we are facing at all levels of sport.”

Officially Human Founder and CEO Brenda Hilton

“As we look forward to another great event, Commissioner Roe Lach and her staff have led the way at the conference level in raising awareness on the importance of recognizing all officials as “humans” and elevating the respect shown towards them. We look forward to connecting fans and high-level officials as they share their stories on climbing the officiating ladder.”
