Community members can now view a free video on the Hamilton County Sports Authority (HCSA) website about good sportsmanship and respecting officials through a partnership with Officially Human. Officially Human exists to restore respect to game officials and recognize them as authorities on the fields and courts.
“Officially Human is thrilled to partner with Hamilton County Sports Authority,” said Officially Human Founder Brenda Hilton. “In my first conversation with the HCSA team, they shared a desire to drive change in the Hamilton County area by being the first sports authority to partner with Officially Human. This organization sees the value of raising awareness surrounding the positive treatment of officials, and we look forward to working alongside their communities.”
The Elevate Respect video on HCSA’s website informs viewers about the job of an official and how to restore respect on the fields and courts. Recommended viewers include spectators, coaches and players of any sport.
“We want to raise awareness throughout the community regarding the difficult jobs officials have and how to increase respect for them, no matter what sport,” said Hamilton County Sports Authority Director Carl Daniels. “We can’t support sport tourism without supporting our officials.”
United Umpires, an organization that schedules baseball umpires for Westfield’s Grand Park, is a strong believer in Officially Human’s mission of “humanizing” officials and umpires.
“We are thrilled that Hamilton County Sports Authority is partnering with the Officially Human team and look forward to seeing them around Hamilton County and Grand Park as we all work together to solve the shortage, retention and treatment of sports officials,” said The United Brand Chief Executive Officer Alex Skandalis.
This partnership will continue to grow with new resources and programming in the weeks to come. For the latest information, go to HamiltonCountySports.com.
